Dr. Melanie McMahon became interested in the bond between pets and their humans during her undergraduate work at University of Texas at Austin where she received her BA in Psychology. After deciding to pursue veterinary medicine, Dr. McMahon moved to California to attend veterinary school at the University of California. She completed an internship at Colorado State University and subsequently ocompleted her medical oncology residency at The Ohio State University.

Dr. McMahon received her board certification in medical oncology through the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) and has been practicing in the Pacific Northwest since 2009. Dr. McMahon’s special interests include osteosarcoma, mast cell tumors, and palliative care. Her main goal as an oncologist is to ensure that each patient has an excellent quality of life during cancer treatment.

Dr. McMahon truly loves living in the Pacific Northwest. She is an avid climber, skier, and kayaker, and enjoys international travel to pursue these interests.
