Before your visit

Initial consultations typically last between 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the service and the individual case. During your first visit, we will ask questions about your pet’s history, examine your pet, and thoroughly discuss options and recommendations. Our goal is to provide you with the information that will allow you to make appropriate decisions for your companion and your family. If diagnostics or procedures are indicated, we may be able to perform them the same day or schedule a return visit. We can also provide hospitalized support for your pet. Prior to any diagnostic or treatment procedures, an estimate of costs will be provided.

Typical steps before your visit or appointments

  1. Schedule an appointment via referral # or directly by calling us at 503.477.7122

  2. Obtain a Referral
    To ensure seamless continuity of care, a written referral from your veterinarian is recommended prior to your appointment, or your veterinarian can fax or email the written referral to us.

  3. Gather the necessary paperwork and medications

    • Your pet’s records (alternatively, records may be faxed ahead of time by your family veterinarian’s office).
    • Any X-rays previously taken by your family veterinarian.
    • Any medication that your pet is taking.
  4. Prepare for their visit
    In general, we recommend that you do not feed your pet after the night preceding the appointment. If the appointment is for a procedure or surgery, your pet will need to fast for 12 hours before the appointment, except for water and medications.

Please check with your family veterinarian prior to your visit, especially if your pet has special needs.

On the day of the visit you’ll be asked to complete a registration form. Alternatively, you may download and complete the form ahead of the visit: OREV Registration Form.

  5. Estimates and Payments
    A clear and complete estimate will be provided prior to any procedure. We will update you and attain your approval in the event that unique conditions alter the original estimate. In addition, it is possible to have a 10% variation below or above the given estimate.

 A deposit (75% of estimate) is required at the time of patient admission, and payment in full is required when your pet is released. We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover), as well as Debit card and cash. Sorry, we cannot accept checks.

  6. Cancellation
    Please provide at least 24 hour’s notice if you are unable to make your appointment.
