Mocha's Story - Dog Femur Fracture

For several months Mocha was been dealing with a femur fracture; Two repair attempts by a family veterinarian had failed, with pin apparatus breakdown and fracture collapse. Mocha’s mom called OREV, anxious and worried, asking if there is something we can do to save Mocha’s leg (since amputation was advised at that point).

Dr. Kramer performed a revision surgery on poor Mocha’s limb, addressing it according to principles of repair for non-union fractures. Debridement, rigid fixation in anatomical alignment, and bone grafting were performed. After 10 weeks of recovery, Mocha had healed, and he is now able to return to his normal, bouncy and zooming activities.
